AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE NEWSCASTER: They were there to monitor developments in the Lisa McPherson case. The Church of Scientology is charged with practicing medicine without a license and neglecting a disabled adult in McPherson's death.

AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE NEWSCASTER: Attorneys for the church want charges dismissed. They argue Scientologists treated McPherson's psychosis according to their religious beliefs. But prosecutors say before she died, McPherson needed medical, not psychiatric care.
